Facilities Technicians (On-Call)

Overview
Fort Mason Foundation (FMF) seeks on-call facilities technicians (available day shift 8:30am -5:30pm and night shift 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.) to support our Lead Facilities Technician on day and night shifts. We are looking for on-call facilities technicians to perform primarily janitorial tasks and facilities maintenance. We require on-call staff to be versatile, flexible, and experienced in supporting facilities operation and maintenance. On-call technicians report to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations and maintenance of FMC buildings, rental spaces, parking lots, and grounds by performing primarily janitorial tasks at the direction of the Facilities Manager or Lead Technician.
• Perform operational, preventive, and reactive maintenance work as required; including mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and janitorial.
• Pay attention to detail and safety in the workplace.
• Set-up and break down meeting rooms and event venues and support client needs.
• Ensure that all work is performed safely and cost effectively.
• Possess general knowledge of materials and methods of construction, estimating, etc.
• Respond proactively to campus-wide event changes, requests, problems, and emergencies.
• Interact with vendors and service providers.
• Support the FMF recycling program.
• Use materials carefully to avoid or reduce waste. Conserve and recycle materials.
• Represent Fort Mason Center to clients and visitors, using good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preserve and respect FMC’s National Landmark-status facilities by taking extreme care during all maintenance and installation work.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years experience in facilities maintenance and janitorial.
• Demonstrated ability to lift at least 50 pounds safely.
• Must be able to climb and work safely at various heights utilizing ladders, scaffolds, catwalks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Must be able to use tools to perform facilities maintenance and janitorial work.
