Festival Pavilion
Well-preserved reminders of the past are on display this October
at the elegant San Francisco Fall Antiques Show in Fort Mason
Center. This beautiful exhibition of fine antiques benefits
Enterprise For High School Students (EHSS), a career development
service for San Francisco teenagers. In addition to antiques,
this event features a lavish preview party, lectures, a special
themed exhibit, and a wonderful garden restaurant.
Now in its 24th year, the Fall Antiques Show is the longest
continuously operating antiques show on the West Coast. This
year, 70 US and European antiques dealers create exquisite,
room-like areas in which to showcase their wares. The show
organizers bring in a wealth of trees and flowers to make
the Festival Pavilion seem like a lovely village filled with
treasures from many eras.
After
strolling through the aisles, visitors can enjoy lunch at
Café Girandole, operated by renowned local caterers
McCall Associates. The special exhibit, "Eat, Drink
Be Merry, Decorative Arts Inspired By Food and Wine,"
is a display of objects for celebrations and dining from ancient
times to the early 20th century. The Sothebys lecture
series includes a discussion of 700 years of wine, art, and
history as well as opulent jewels of the 1950s and the arts
of Monterey, CA.
Dont miss the premiere social event of the season. McCall
Associates also caters the luscious cocktail buffet for the
fabulous preview party on October 26. Find more details about
this sumptuous event in the October
26 listing and at www.ehss.org.
