India Jazz Suites

Cowell Theater

Master Kathak dancer Chitresh Das returns to the Cowell Theater – this time along with Emmy winner and master tap dancer Jason Samuels Smith.

Mixing Indian classical and American jazz, these two are guaranteed to light up the stage.
Bay Area dance audiences know Pandit Chitresh Das. He’s performed at the Cowell many times. He also has an international following as he performs throughout Europe and Asia and at India’s celebrated festivals. He and his dance company are known for their innovative and collaborative works.

Smith, 24, founded his own tap dance company, ACGI (Anybody Can Get It), and has performed in an eclectic range of venues that includes TV, Broadway, the White House, and ABC’s Monday Night Football.

This three-day world premiere collaboration begins in November. Check November 10 in the calendar or visit www.kathak.org for more information.
