Lamento by Theatre Flamenco

Cowell Theater

Special guest artists, singer José Cortés and award-winning dancer Manuel Gutiérrez, come to the Cowell Theater stage from Spain in performances that celebrate San Francisco’s second oldest dance company – Theatre Flamenco.

Now in its 39th year, Theatre Flamenco presents two premieres in three performances beginning Friday, November 25. Lamento, from the cante jondo, or deep song of flamenco, is created by artistic director Miguel Santos. "Tangos," set to the rhythm of cante chico, or light song, is created for the women in the company by its co-artistic director, Carola Zertuche

For more information, check the November 25 calendar listing. For more information on the dance company, visit www.theatreflamenco.org.
