Cowell Theater
Bidding 2005 farewell may be a relief for most folks as it
hasnt been the happiest of years. If anyone can find
something to laugh about in the past year, its Will
Durst and friends at the Big Fat Year-End Kiss-Off Comedy
Show XIII in the Cowell on New Years Eve.
The way things are going these days, 13 could turn out to
be a lucky number, at least if you have the sardonic wit of
Durst and company. Mega-disasters, mongo-scandals, and looming
global pandemics are not all that amusing on TV, but the Year-End
Kiss-Off has a way of making dire developments seem hilarious.
Imagine Jon Stewarts Daily Show on steroids,
or a live version of The Onion delivered by people
with really bad attitudes (and hangovers from media overload).
Many cast members from previous year-end kiss-offs are back
this year good news for those who cant wait to
see Will Durst harpoon the White House, stem cells, or "Hurricane
FEMA." Debi Durst is also on hand to raise the bar on insane
physical comedy and improv with her performing partner Michael
Bossier.
Feisty Australian Jim Short can always be depended upon to
hold forth on pithy topics such as medical marijuana, state-run
health care, or tough men. Bon vivant and clever raconteur
Steven Kravitz jets in for the kiss-off, which also tours
through Northern California in the days before the demise
of 2005. Arthur Gaus joins the cavalcade this year, fresh
from marathon gigs all over the West, including Comedy Day
in Golden Gate Park, Free Speech Comedy Night, The Purple
Onion, and Vegas clubs.
Get your giggles on with the Will Durst gang. For details,
