Conference Center, Building A
Original etchings by Rembrandt, woodcuts by Dürer, and
prints by Hiroshige and Hokusai are available at the San Francisco
Fine Print Fair at Fort Mason Center as are lithographs by
Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall. California artists are represented
as well. In all, 18 select fine arts dealers from the United
States and Canada gather at the Conference Center in January
to exhibit and offer for sale work from old masters to contemporary
artists ranging over five centuries.
The
fair offers an opportunity to examine and learn the history
of printmaking and printmaking techniques, as well as a chance
to see some of the finest work in the discipline and ask questions
from knowledgeable dealers.
Formerly called Prints San Francisco, this prestigious fair
opens Friday evening, January
20 with a preview benefit. Proceeds go to the acquisition
fund of the Achenbach Foundation for the Graphic Arts, part
of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. The fair is free
on Saturday and Sunday.
The International Fine Print Dealers Association sponsors
the San Francisco Fine Print Fair. For more information, visit
