SPEAKING OF ACTORS
Ed Harris was here 20 years
ago this month. He appeared in Scar along with
his wife, actress Amy Madigan at the Magic
Theatre. The play was a premiere by the Obie Award-winning
playwright Murray Mednick. In January a quarter of
a century ago, Magic presented The Man Who Killed the Buddha
by Martin Epstein.
CAMPUS NOTES
Construction begins on Fort Mason
Centers Firehouse, Gatehouse, and Guard
Station to restore, improve, and seismically retrofit
these historic landmark buildings as part of a larger preservation
undertaking. Preparations are also being made for the implementation
of "Park for Preservation" that will use net proceeds
from paid parking to fund similar additional preservation
work in the future. Paid parking, with modest rates, is expected
to start in May.

MORE CONSTRUCTION
Greens is expanding. Work
is under way on a new private dining room another room
with a view. For the observant, all those workers on Greens
roof werent praying to the sun gods. They were replacing
all of the beautiful clay tiles with new clay tiles.
