Conference Center,
Building A
Laurel Burch invites her devoted fans and “kindred spirits” to an unprecedented celebration of courage and creativity at Fort Mason Center (FMC) in mid-April. Burch, a well-known Northern California artist, is famous for her inspiring designs filled with animals, people, tribal motifs, and metallic accents in a rainbow of brilliant hues.
The celebration in FMC’s Conference Center presents a 40-year survey of Burch’s work, including originals as well as fine reproductions on gift items. This event is the first time her legendary paintings, drawings, and sketches have been shown to the public. The exhibit is a rare opportunity for collectors and admirers to find treasures from Burch’s personal collection of art, artifacts, limited editions, and gift.
Laurel Burch designs appear on socks, tote bags, journals, scarves, ceramics, clothing, and jewelry. In addition to bold, geometric abstract creations, she has explored themes ranging from cats, horses, and jungle animals to the “spirit of womankind.”
The “kindred spirits” celebration kicks off on Thursday night, April 13, with a gala preview. Formal attire and rainbow colors are optional for this festive affair and silent auction that benefits the Laurel Burch Museum and Art Scholarship Fund. The gift shop of distinctive signature Laurel Burch products continues on Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15.
