Among American humorists, the likes of Dennis Miller, Whoopi Goldberg, and Chris Rock stand out for their ability to combine gut-wrenching comedy with scathing political insight. For those whose humor veers decidedly leftward, the San Francisco Bay Area’s Johnny Steele delivers the goods.
Inspired by the great satirists from Lenny Bruce to Will Rogers, Steele has spent over 15 years culling material from the newsroom and skewering the injustices of the world — you know, things like greed, war, poverty, and Bruce Willis’ success.
As part of “The War on Error” progressive comedy tour, Steele headlines an evening of laughs galore at the expense of “The Suckiest President Ever and his Ministers of Crap A Ganda.” Joining him for the fun are San Francisco Chronicle columnist Mark Morford, comedienne Aundre the Wonderwoman, and cyber-cartoonist Mark Fiore.
Don’t miss “The War on Error,” Friday, September 22 at Fort Mason Center’s Cowell Theater. For event details and ticket information, see September 22 or visit www.johnnysteele.com.
