Cowell Theater
Popular Bay Area recording artist Greg Lamboy appears at Fort Mason Center’s Cowell Theater Sunday, July 1 for a combined event — the release of his new CD and a benefit concert for Music in Schools Today (MuST).
Lamboy, whose new release is “Lift,” wants to help the nonprofit organization raise public awareness for the need to fund arts and music education in our schools. With school budgets facing cutbacks, many eliminate such programs. MuST steps in with programs that serve more than 10,000 children and youth in schools and community centers each year. Music and the arts, they believe, are as important to pre-K through 12 as math and science, and are central to personal development.
Lamboy’s special guests include singer-songwriters Austin Willacy and Katie Garibaldi. Mercy Street Entertainment Group produces both the new CD and the Cowell Theater event.
