Bhutan, located between India and Tibet, is the last Buddhist Kingdom in the Himalayas. The Gil Chun Dance Company brings tap, ballroom, hula, jazz, and ethnic dances to the Cowell. The centerpiece of the evening is a whodunit musical skit, “The Case of the Tap Dance Murders.” Among the eclectic offerings is the Bay Area Ukulele Ensemble playing popular Hawaiian songs and medleys.

Theatre Flamenco celebrates its 41st season as new artistic director Carola Zertuche takes command. Enjoy an evening of the passionate, vibrant, and colorful dance form with dancers, musicians, and guest artists, as well as Zertuch premieres. The Theatre Flamenco performances are part of the In Performance Series at the Cowell Theater, which is funded by the Grants for the Arts/San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund, Wells Fargo, and the Fort Mason Foundation.
