The weather outside may be frightful, but inside the Festival Pavilion it’s always delightful at one of Fort Mason Center’s most beloved traditions — the Guardsmen Tree Lot. This signature San Francisco event is fun for the whole family and offers kids’ activities, tree delivery and fireproofing services, and festive holiday cheer.
Every year right after Thanksgiving, Guardsmen members and their families transform the pavilion into a pine-scented winter wonderland full of lovely green trees, ornaments, wreaths, and other holiday decorations. The tree lot is one of the many popular events sponsored by the Guardsmen to raise funds for their philanthropic projects.
The Guardsmen is a venerable San Francisco Bay Area organization with a 60-year history of helping young people enjoy the outdoors and explore educational opportunities. Founded in 1947, the Guardsmen have raised more than $1 million each year to support camping and scholarship programs for children. Christmas tree sales have been a Guardsmen specialty for more than 30 years.
When the turkey leftovers have vanished and holiday music fills the air, travel to the Festival Pavilion to wander through the foliage on a quest for the best tree for your space. The Guardsmen stock a wide variety of trees in all shapes and sizes — from tabletop-size trees for cozy apartments to towering ballroom titans.
