The summer never ends when the Guardsmen return to Fort Mason Center (FMC) for an “Endless Summer Party.” Best known at FMC for their winter activity as purveyors of Christmas trees in the Festival Pavilion, the service organization transforms Herbst Pavilion into a tropical paradise for this mid-summer fete. Music from the ‘80s cover band Pop Rocks, barbecue treats and drinks, and a co-ed Beer Pong Tournament are all part of the festivities. KTVU’s Sal Castaneda emcees.
The Guardsmen is a service organization of Bay Area professional men that, since 1947, has provided disadvantaged and at-risk youth the opportunity to participate in camping, educational, and other culturally enriching opportunities. Through the Campership program, approximately 3,000 children attend summer camp and other summer programs. Through the Scholarship Funding program, the organization provides more than 140 annual private school scholarships to disadvantaged young people.
